Okay, I am SERIOUSLY slacking in the photo blogging department! I’ve had tons to update about — client sessions, new website additions and such — but they never seem to make it from my Facebook fan page to here.
But enough lamenting.
Time for an update! I had a blast yesterday at the Bridal Expo at The Casino at Lakemont Park. First of all, I met some amazing brides-to-be who had me turning to my husband after they walked away to say, “Oooh! I want to do their wedding!” There’s so little time to connect with individuals at an event like that, but sometimes it just clicks. I got a ton of great feedback from my freebie offer and already got a few calls for dates this summer. Can’t wait!
If only the snow would melt already. Dang.
When I wasn’t talking photo packages, I was eating! Seriously. The Casino had an awesome buffet lunch spread for vendors. My chicken salad spinach wrap with apples and walnuts was perfection. And I would’ve snagged all of the white chocolate cranberry cookies if they hadn’t been in such a high-traffic area.
Then, during the event, my ad rep hand-delivered a much-needed drink. (What service!) And the caterers had so many delicious samples left over at the end that they were handing out plates. Score!

When we walked in to set up, I was suprised to see one of the guys I did
senior portraits of last fall! He was there inflating hundreds and hundreds
of balloons. We snuck some home for our daughter who LOVES them.

This is Michael Benjamin of Benjamin’s Destinctive Catering. He gave us
a plate of his leftover gorganzola-filled strawberries at the end, and they
were AMAZING!!! Not to mention the chocolate dessert cups filled with
strawberry whipped awesomeness. I want him to cater my birthday next

Occupying Allison for hours on end during the latest snowstorm without being able to even make a quick run to the store left me searching for activities.
We colored and built forts. We ate popcorn and watched movies. We made gigantic block towers and smashed them until they scattered. Then we’d do it again.
But after awhile, I think both of us just got bored. And, frankly, the thought of tugging on snowpants and the ensuing wet kitchen floor and runny noses from playing in the snow weren’t all that appealing.
So what’s a girl to do?
Play dress up and take pictures, that’s what!
As usual, I had to bribe her with a green lollipop! We were all
done, and I was about to put my camera away, but I turned
around to see this. Some of the best moments happen at the
very end when everyone relaxes.

These two adorable little ones are the children of a longtime friend. When oohing at my things, they reminded me that life is full of wonderment.
I recently did a headshot session for Kim, who plans to use them in a variety of ways to promote herself and her dance business. Not surprisingly, she had absolutely perfect posture!
This family was tremendous fun. Sometimes I have to jump through hoops to get a kiddo to smile, but not these two! They were just full of great expressions.
